Production Operatives (Food) Harwich, Essex

• Salary/Rate of Pay: Starting from £10.42 per hour
• Status: Permanent
• Hours of Work: Full time or Part Time (minimum 1 x 12 hour shift up to 4 x 12 hour shifts)
• Location: Harwich, Essex
• Day or night work available with 10% premium for night hours
• Progression opportunities available

Typical daily duties will include:

• Inspect, pack food products, label cartons and stack
• Organise production processes to maximise efficiency and meet targets
• Ensure quality standards for all products are met, raising any concerns
• Ensure company procedures for Health, Hygiene and Safety and Food Safety are followed
• Manage operation of the line assigned and report any issues or breakdowns to the Production Manager/ Engineers
• Identify potential areas for improvement to production methods and processes

Skills Required:

• Previous experience working within a food production environment desirable but not essential as full training will be provided to support ongoing progression/development
• Attention to detail is imperative
• Good numeracy and written skills
• Confident working in a team and independently
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Have a strong work ethic conveying confidence and passion in delivering high quality service
• Being committed to safety, quality and productivity
• Achieving a high standard of punctuality and attendance, following company production rules,adhering to health and safety rules and promote a safe working environment
• Due to the nature of the roles a degree of manual handling is required (training provided)

You may have experience in some of the following:

• Vertical Form fill sealing machines
• Filling out records including weight, metal checks, H&S, quality, and food safety
• Experience working in a labour-intensive, hands-on environment
• Forklift driving
• Food Production/ Packing / Machine operator experience
